Start a Huddle
If you're ready to begin a Huddle on your campus, please take the following simple steps:
1. Pray. Ask the Lord to prepare your FCA start-up.
2. Contact Kraig Cabe at (260) 672-8482 or kcabe@fca.org. As the Northern Indiana FCA Area Director, he can give you a better understanding of the campus ministry and answer any questions you may have.
3. Seek the Administration's blessing. FCA should be student-initiated and student-led. Students should meet with school administrators to obtain approval, and provide them with information regarding the CA ministry.
4. Complete the Ministry/Student Leader Application. You can obtain this form from the Northern Indiana FCA office or by selecting the appropriate link in the Leadership Application Forms box below.
5. Certify your campus. You can obtain this form from the Northern Indiana FCA office Use the Campus Ministry or visit www.fca.org/certify.
6. Identify student leaders and coaches. Select students and coaches who are Christians and are most likely to be leaders and volunteer their time.
7. Surround yourself with volunteers. Adult Ministries are designed to support the FCA. These adults can meet together, raise funds, and assist in activities.
8. Hold an organizational session. Host a meeting with those who are interested in leading FCA, and invite your FCA staff to learn about the great resources in the Campus Ministry Kit. Discuss the meeting schedule, FCA-provided materials, and the impact that FCA will have on your campus.
9. Review the available resources. Our Campus Ministry Kit includes: • Huddle Playbook: Includes FCA information, basic training and resources. • FCA Athlete's Bible: Includes options for more than 25,000 Huddle meetings. • DVD/CD Combo: Contains video-enhanced Bible studies, Ministry Planner and training. • Sharing the Victory Magazine: Nine issues per year.
10. Complete Basic Training. In your Campus Ministry Kit, you will find our Huddle Playbook. In the Playbook are five leadership training sessions called: Basic Training. Take the time to complete these lessons with your leadership team. • Build a Plan. In the Basic Training lessons you will learn how to utilize FCA's resources to do ministry on your campus. • Evaluate. FCA has provided a great tool, the Huddle Scouting Report, to help you evaluate and lead the best campus ministry possible. • Ongoing Leadership Training. Leadership teams should meet regularly to pray, plan their campus ministry, and further develop their leadership abilities by working through all 15 of our X factor lessons found on the Huddle eQuipment CD.
